The New Telluride Town Council
Story:
One incumbent, three newcomers take council seats
Town tax measures soundly defeated, referendum passes
On Election Day in Telluride, town voters proved wrong the power of incumbents, electing three brand new faces to its seven-member town council. Voters also slaughtered a pair of tax measures put on the ballot by the town.
In a race that saw the biggest pool of candidates in recent memory — nine — vying for four seats on town council, only one incumbent held on to his seat. The rest of the winners represent entirely new faces to town council.
