The Town of TellurideNestled in a box canyon surrounded by majestic, 13,000-foot peaks of the San Juan Mountains, the over a century-old Town of Telluride is filled with colorful legends and Rocky Mountain spirit. Just six blocks wide and twelve blocks long, the National Historic District is a window into the town's illustrious past and a showcase of spirited individualism and community pride.
It's also a delight to explore, with its colorful Victorian homes, clapboard storefronts, boutiques, art galleries, bookstores, gourmet restaurants, historic buildings and much more. The heartbeat of an illustrious past lives on in Telluride’s present...and its future.
The Town of Mountain VillagePerched at 9,500 feet mid-mountain on the south side of the ski area, the distinct beauty of Mountain Village entices the most discriminating guests with its luxury hotels and condos, stylish boutiques, innovative dining, world-class Golden Door Spa, championship golf course, and state of the art conference center. Enchanting everyone with its modern alpine elegance and overlooking some of the most magnificent peaks in the San Juan range, Mountain Village is the ultimate mountain retreat, complementing the rustic charm of Telluride to create “the best of both worlds” for visitors to this spectacular area.
Founded in 1987 and incorporated in 1995, the heart of Mountain Village is the 92-acre pedestrian center known as the “Mountain Village Core.” Besides its luxury condos and hotels, it is the recreational and social activity center, with sports shops, restaurants, banks, a market, home furnishings store, antiques, jewelry, gifts, apparel, and more.
